Carlos Vega enters private practice as a trial lawyer backed by over 9 years of experience as a Police Officer for the cities of Gardena and Torrance where he learned the foundations of the criminal justice system from arrest to conviction. He then parlayed this experience into 17+ years as an overwhelmingly successful prosecutor in Contra Costa and Santa Clara Counties.
Mr. Vega has tried over 50 jury trials that included convictions for violent felonies, sexual assault, child molestation, and homicide; both gang and non-gang related. Moreover, Mr. Vega has successfully negotiated hundreds of cases during his time as a prosecutor that allowed for a fair resolution to all of the parties involved. As a result of over 25 years of law enforcement and prosecutorial experience, Mr. Vega is able to provide clients with a reasonable assessment of their case and provide options for resolution that is in the best interests of the client. Mr. Vega’s trial skills however, allow him to take each case and prepare as if it will go to jury trial while allowing him the luxury of negotiating from a position of strength based on his extensive experience as a trial lawyer and ability to persuade a jury.
Mr. Vega received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 2002. He received his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Southern California in 2005.
